Voting Access and Democracy in the WA State
Join the CP Advocacy Department to learn about our priority bills in Washington state and what you can do to promote their progression through the legislature this year.
We’ll discuss what we want to achieve with these bills and also provide assistance with drafting communications to your legislators about the our priority bills.
Note that this event is specifically designed for WA state residents.
We’re closely tracking the following bills that impact voting access and rights. Click on each bill to learn more:
SB 5112: Updating processes related to voter registration
SB 5208: Updating the process for online voter registration by allowing voter applicants to provide the last four digits of social security number for authentication
HB 1048: Enhancing the Washington voting rights act
Freedom to Vote Movement Briefing
This past November, Americans proved how important the movement to protect and defend our democracy is to us and our communities. And in the coming weeks, we expect the Freedom to Vote Act will be reintroduced for the 118th Congress.
Join us with the Declaration for American Democracy for the Freedom to Vote Act Movement Call to learn more about the Freedom to Vote Act and how we can take action together to show our elected officials that passing national standards to strengthen our democracy continues to be a top priority.
We’ll be joined by U.S. Rep. John Sarbanes and movement leaders from across the country to lay out our mission in passing this sweeping democracy reform.

David Domke will be hosting a daily action half hour as we continue to put pressure on the Senate to get these bills passed, whatever it takes.
