If this is your introduction to CP, welcome! For our more seasoned community members and volunteers, we’re excited to have you along for this new chapter in our community.

Our online community will go through an update on 4/28/25 causing all users to be logged off. Users will have to log back in. Read more about it here.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

The Online Community space is conveniently organized into four sections to keep discussions/information accessible and engaging. 

HOW TO JOIN ON SLACK

1. Fill out request form

Click the button below and fill out the “CP Online Community Request Form”

2. Check your email inbox

We will send an invite link to our Slack channel, through your email, within a few days.

3. Open Slack and get started!

Once on Slack, create a profile to start connecting with other volunteers.

4. Read the community guide

We outlined the purpose and policies of our Online Community and encouraged all our community members to take a look at this document before joining us online.

ONLINE COMMUNITY CHANNELS

#announcements: for CP staff to communicate important info as well as travel, events, and program updates 📢

#introductions: Our community makes us special and that’s what this channel is all about. When you first join, please introduce yourself. We use this channel to get to know one another. 🫂

#travel: for all things related to fieldwork travel including trip dates and questions about traveling with CP ✈️

#volunteer-voices: for you to share your volunteer experiences and how you’re making “good trouble” 🗳️

April 28th, 2025 our online community will be going through an update that will cause all users to be logged out.

Please note the following:

1. Our updated volunteer workspace will maintain all the original content from the public channels.

2. ⚠️Your direct messages (DMs) will be deleted—if you need to save any messages or contacts, please do so before April 28. ⚠️

3. Watch for an email invite on April 28th to log back into the updated Slack workspace—accept it to stay connected!
