Meet the Moment: Common Power 2022 Fieldwork Fundraiser

September 20, 5-6 pm PDT

A Zoom event

American democracy is on fire: a Donald Trump-fueled Big Election Lie, Republican gerrymandering and voter suppression, and an extreme Supreme Court are pushing us to the brink. This is an existential moment for our nation. It’s time to meet the moment with 2022 voter fieldwork. Join us for this fall fieldwork fundraiser on National Voter Registration Day! Our keynote speaker will be Georgia Secretary of State candidate Bee Nguyen: the first Asian American female ever to win election to the Georgia Assembly. Nguyen is running hand in hand in Georgia with Stacey Abrams and Raphael Warnock in 2022. We also will hear testimonies of three volunteers who have done CP fieldwork.

Common Power in 2022 is mobilizing voters in several key states: Wisconsin and Michigan and Pennsylvania to the Carolinas, Georgia, Texas, Arizona, and Nevada. Our partner orgs tell us over and over that nothing is more important and impactful than door-to-door canvassing, and no one does this like Common Power: in key states, in community across race and generations, guided by local organizations.

In this fundraiser, we seek to raise $200,000 through ticket purchases and donations to support 100+ volunteers traveling into the field to mobilize voters in the 2022 midterms (@ rough cost of @$2000/person). Many of these volunteers are next-gen leaders who are able to vote for the first time! All funds go toward the Common Power Political Action Committee, and therefore are not tax-deductible. Exciting note: Common Power is now equipped to receive donations of frequent flier miles (for two airlines: Alaska and Delta); please email julia@commonpower.org.

This event is a Zoom event. The zoom link will be sent to all registrants upon ticket purchase.
