Demagoguery vs Democracy: How Ukraine's Fight is Impacting US Politics

  • COMMON POWER PO Box 51125 Seattle, WA 98115 United States (map)

Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine is being met with international condemnation AND a pro-democracy surge. Why and how is this happening? And what are the implications for the presidency of Joe Biden and the 2022 midterms? Hanson Hosein is an award-winning journalist and filmmaker, advisor to business and civic leaders, and co-founder of the Communication Leadership program at the University of Washington. Charles Douglas is the co-founder and Executive Director of Common Power, a civic action organization committed to a more just and inclusive American democracy. David Domke is a retired UW professor, the author of two books on American politics and democracy, and a senior leader of Common Power. They will discuss with clear eyes and a candid voice why and how US politics is being impacted by Ukraine's fight for democracy.
