Today Common Power is proud to highlight Virginia State Senator Ghazala Hashmi who is currently running for re-election to the State Senate, District 15.
When Hashmi was first elected to office in 2019, she became the first Muslim and South Asian American to serve in the Virginia state Senate. She is committed to combating climate change, increasing affordable housing, and access to reproductive freedom. Here at CP, we are especially thrilled to see “good governance” as a key issue she commits to leading on and supporting. Hashmi will continue to fight for expanding early voting and no-excuse absentee voting access.
