She/Her

Jenni Ruiz graduated from the University of Washington in Seattle with a Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Societies, and Justice. During her time at UW, she came across Poder Común, which is the bilingual component of Common Power. She started off as an intern with Poder Común, and then got more into the Common Power space when she did Action Academy. After she graduated from CP Future's Action Academy, she continued to work as a Crew Lead the following summer. During this time, Jenni continued to be a part of Poder Común, through the Fieldwork Department, where she is now a Fieldwork Contractor.

As a Latinx woman and coming from an immigrant household, she knows the struggles and difficulties that her own community faces on a daily basis. She has always had a passion on helping her community and advocating for those around her. Jenni has always had a huge passion for uplifting particularly the Latinx community, and has been heavily involved with her community. She is committed to continue to do her part, as she advocates for more accessibility and civic education for not only the Latinx community but all BIPOC communities.
