Join Common Power for an in-person volunteer training on conflict management at doors led by Libby Nelson on Saturday, October 3rd, starting at 11 AM at our Seattle downtown office.
This year, Common Power will be knocking on doors across party lines. The way we show up matters more than any fact or argument we bring -- it's often what starts to unsettle the "us vs. them" story before a single policy point comes up. `
This interactive training will help you build your skills and confidence to connect quickly and authentically with voters of all stripes. You'll get hands-on practice through paired role-play, taking turns as canvasser and voter to work through real conversation scenarios, along with small group breakouts where you can try out different approaches and get feedback before you're out at the doors. We'll also cover how to recognize an unproductive conversation and exit it gracefully.
