Davids Lecture for Website -3.png

This is a two-lecture series by David Domke, UW prof and Common Power co-leader, on March 22 + March 23.

The 2020 election has brought America to a defining crossroads in the fight for voting rights for all. The expansion of voting mechanisms due to Covid, the successes of the Democratic Party, and the record voter turnouts nationally, especially among African Americans, were unacceptable to the Republican Party, which has built its success since the 1960s on voter suppression. Donald Trump and GOP allies responded with an attempt to overthrow the election, and now in early 2021 Republicans are pursuing legislation across the country that would make it harder for all Americans, and especially Democratic constituencies, to vote. The good news is that Democrats and progressive organizations are fully engaged, and we at Common Power have a clear, significant role to play.

Lectures both (a) will occur live at 5 pm PST on March 22 and March 23 via Zoom, and (b) will be recorded for everyone to watch on your own timing. Registrants will receive viewing instructions one day in advance of the lectures and then one hour before each lecture. There are three levels of registration for these lectures. The content is the same across the levels; the different price points are merely for you to pick the one you wish!
