This is a two-lecture series, Jan 18-19.
Overview: Since Donald Trump descended down the hotel escalator into American presidential politics in 2015, we have been in profound national chaos and turmoil. He did not originate these realities, but he escalated them to his advantage. Millions have suffered because of Trumpism, hundreds of thousands have died, international alliances have been sundered, and our political system today is in existential peril. On the eve of the inauguration of President Joe Biden and Vice-President Kamala Harris, let’s take stock of the political landscape at this unprecedented moment in America. What have we lost, what have we learned, what must we do? This lecture series cannot possibly cover all the impacts of the Trump presidency, but it will hit the major takeaways. We must never be here again. Lectures both (a) will occur live at 5 pm PST on Jan 18 and Jan 19 via Zoom, and (b) will be recorded for everyone to watch on your own timing. Registrants will receive viewing instructions one day in advance of each lecture and then one hour before each lecture.
There are three levels of registration for these lectures. The content is the same across the levels; the different price points are merely for you to pick the one you wish! All fees go to support the voting justice work of Common Power. Registration is here:
