Through reading a series of articles and coming together around lunch time, we will dig into distinct parts of known and unknown history, particularly the treatment of Black people in this country, how that treatment shapes the way this country has developed its racial identity and ways we can learn more honest versions of the information we were taught in school to become better versions of ourselves.

In this article club, we will break into small groups and dissect what we have learned and how we can use that to create a better and safer space for all of our neighbors. The goal is to create a space where folks are able to be vulnerable and learn about hidden parts of history. Essentially, I want to mold something that would look like the history 101 class I wish I had. AJ’s Lunch and Learn is a safe space to have conversations as a way to create and strengthen the community we have here at CP and make sure we are holding each other accountable and sharing the load when it comes to discussion on racism and allyship. Bring your lunch, snacks, drinks, friends and neighbors and let’s build community while we learn together.

Please RSVP at this link (where you’ll get links to the articles) and let’s get to work: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZ0qcOmtrzIiG9yr4GQMkKgkK0Q1VQM5l-b5
