2019 Launch: Work Session

  • Washington Hall 153 14th Avenue Seattle, WA 98122 USA (map)

Let’s launch 2019 strong and together, the Common Purpose way! Join your CP friends for a work session to start the year right. We'll work on 3 main initiatives:

Washington State Accountability Initiative will keep local elected officials accountable to voters, from the Governor to local officials.  We'll communicate with officials in the spring and mobilize in elections in the fall.  New Washington State Strategist Jamielyn Wheeler is creating and leading this new area of civic engagement.

Voter Engagement will focus on Florida, Wisconsin, Virginia and Mississippi in 2019.  Learn why these states matter so much, and what CP participants will be doing there.

New Civic Learning Tours will take CP participants to Virginia, Mississippi and Washington state for on-the-ground experiential learning trips.  You'll learn and see in person the historical-to-now political, legal and economic realities that shape civic and voting patterns to this day.  CP will share goals, leadership, dates and details and desired impacts for these tours.  Civic Learning Tours are the first idea to hatch from CP's new Civic Accelerator!

This work session will be repeated on Wednesday, Jan. 23rd from 6:00 to 9:00pm.

Please join us and start 2019 in renewed commitment and energy. Democracy is a verb!
