Racial Disparities in Punishment: From Education to the Criminal Justice System. What Can We Do?

Meet the Moment Monday Series

Monday, August 29, 5:00 pm PST / 8:00 pm EST

Racial disparities in punishment plague schools across the nation and far too frequently define our criminal justice systems. What forms does this punishment take? Why are African American children and adults disproportionately targeted in schools regarding punitive measures? Why are African Americans disproportionately subject to stop-and-frisk measures, arrests, and punishments that are worse than their white counterparts? What can we do about it?
