Binh Truong

General Manager, Fieldwork

She/Her, They/Them

As a graduate of the first Action Academy cohort in 2020, Binh entered Common Power working with Larcy Douglas on Action Academy curriculum. From there, they got hooked with leading volunteers and bringing young people into civics. They transitioned to leading Fieldwork in 2023. Since then, they helped to create a system for volunteer recruitment, engagement, and mobilization that can respond to critical elections big and small.

Before CP and getting into organizing and civic work, Binh was on a path to working in government. A straightforward road through undergrad researching international policies, a Fulbright Fellowship to Austria as an English Teaching Assistant and guest researcher at the University of Salzburg International Relations, and an M.P.A. from the Evans School of Public Policy & Governance.

Binh immigrated from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam to Tacoma, WA so they love the ocean and have never been away from it. Therefore, Binh desperately wishes to have strong swimming skills, but alas, their body is more disposed towards reading, napping, cooking, and eating.
